Remnant 2 gives you a lot of latitude when it comes to build diversity. There are a huge number of rings, amulets, weapons, Traits, and armor to choose from, all of which are incredibly unique. The Trait Point cap adds a layer of complexity that encourages you to be very selective in your choices. With all that in mind, here’s a build called the Bloodsucker that prioritizes Lifesteal and Bleeding damage to tear through your opponents with ease.

The Bloodsucker

The Bloodsucker build relies on speed, Lifesteal, and Bleed damage to wear down enemies. It requires some melee skills to pull off, but it can be forgiving in most circ*mstances. For anyone that wants to play out their vampire fantasies, this is the build for you.

Here’s the whole build in one table, but we’ll break it down further below:

How it Works

This build works by getting up close and personal with your enemies. Your goal is to immediately inflict Bleeding on them and then tear them to shreds. All the while, Lifesteal will keep your health refilled. This build isn’t for the faint of heart; it takes some serious melee chops to pull it off, but if you do, it’s incredibly fun and very satisfying.

You do need to be careful with your dodge when using this build. The Ring of Omens will drain your health instead of stamina for dodges, but it’s well worth it to get the mist dodge. Just don’t let it drop your health below the point that you can get it back up again with Grey Health Regen and Lifesteal.

The main place this build encounters difficulty is in fights against big bosses that require ranged weapons. In that case, switch out your Archetype skills, relic fragments, and the Burden of the Destroyer ring for other options that buff your ranged effectiveness.

Archetypes

For this build, we chose Challenger as the primary Archetype and Invader as the secondary. This is a melee build, so the Challenger’s incredible melee prowess grants some extra damage, and keeping it in the primary slot affords the chance to come back from death. However, if you’re feeling confident, try switching Invader into the primary slot to squeeze out some extra damage on anyone attacking your decoys.

Archetypes

Challenger

Juggernaut: Become nearly unstoppable, gaining 3 Stacks of Bulwark, 15% increased Movement and Melee Speed, and 50% increased Melee Damage. Stagger Level reduced by 1. Lasts 25s.

Invader

Wormhole: Warps the caster forward through space-time. The next Melee or Ranged attack within 5s will deal 300% damage.

These skills will prove effective in most encounters. However, some bosses require a ranged build since they’re big, faraway targets that you can’t reach in melee. In those fights, switch Wormhole out for Void Cloak to get in some guaranteed Perfect Dodges. Also, switch out Juggernaut for Rampage to get a nice boost to your Ranged effectiveness.

Weapons

These weapons have been selected to prioritize Lifesteal and Bleeding damage. The Nighshade is the star of the show, with a fast attack speed, good critical chance, and strong Lifesteal abilities.

The Merciless is effective at causing widespread Bleeding when you need it, and Sorrow is excellent when you need to back off and heal up.

Weapons
Merciless: Fires tooth-like flechettes. When the weapon reticle is fully compressed, the flechettes apply 287.5 Bleeding damage over 10s.
Twisting Wounds +10: Increases Ranged damage of this weapon by 20% to Bleeding targets. At Level 10: This weapon’s Ranged Weakspot and Ranged Critical Hits apply Bleeding, dealing 230 Bleed damage over 10s.
Nightshade: Fast-striking claws with a high Critical Hit chance. Neutral Dodge grants the power of Lifesteal.
Vampire Blade +10: Increases Melee Damage by 25% while within 10m of a Bleeding entity. At Level 10: Melee Hits vs Bleeding targets will Lifesteal 3% of base damage dealt.
Sorrow: The last vestiges of a fallen sister, this mystical crossbow pistol has the ability to recall its bolts to heal the wielder.
Bulletweaver +10: Mod use increases Fire Rate of this weapon by 20% for 7s. At Level 10: Increases Mod Generation for this weapon by 15%.

Armor

Any combination of armor pieces works here as long as you keep the Weight at or below 60. Your actual Encumbrance will be reduced to 50 by the Strong Back Trait. If you go over 50, you’ll need to make some other adjustments to mitigate the damage you’ll receive from the Ring of Omens. More on that later.

Relic

The Siphon Heart is the obvious choice for this build. It doesn’t give any direct healing but instead gives you a 10% boost to Lifesteal for 10 seconds. That’s all you need to heal back up to full while picking apart your foes.

The Grey Health Rate fragment will help you regain all the health you spend on dodging with the Ring of Omens. The Melee Critical Chance and Melee Attack Speed fragments increase your melee abilities, but if you’re up against a boss that requires a ranged build, switch them out for ranged damage buffs.

Relic
Siphon Heart: On use, grants 10% of base damage dealt as Lifesteal for 10s.
Grey Health Rate: +5% Grey Health Rate.
Melee Critical Chance: +2% Melee Crit Chance.
Melee Attack Speed: +3% Melee Attack Speed.

Jewelry

The Ring of Omens paired with the Ravager’s Mark enables you to do a mist dodge that is incredible at moving around enemies. The ring’s Health cost scales with your Encumberance, which is why we want that to stay low. At 50 weight, the ring requires 10.5% of your Health to dodge; keep that in mind as you’re sliding around enemies.

When you go up against a boss that requires ranged damage, switch out Burden of the Destroyer for something more practical like Zania’s Malice that grants you a stacking buff that increases Weakspot Damage.

Jewelry
Ravager’s Mark: Increases all damage dealt to Bleeding targets by 20%. Bonus increases to 30% for targets with 50% or lower Health.
Ring of Omens: Evades cost 10.543% Max Health as Grey Health instead of Stamina.
Dying Ember: Gain 5% of base Melee damage dealt as Lifesteal.
Blood Jewel: Charged Melee Attacks apply Bleeding, dealing 713 Bleed damage over 20s.
Burden of the Destroyer: Decreases Ideal Range of all Firearms by 25%. Increases all damage dealt by 15%.

Traits

The Trait choices in the Bloodsucker build are specifically designed to reduce damage taken, increase your Lifesteal, and lengthen your evade. With your points spent wisely, you can zip around the battlefield with ease, taking less damage from enemies and healing whatever damage you do take quickly.

Traits
Regrowth (10): Increases Health Regeneration by 1.5/s.
Strong Back (10): Reduces Encumbrance by 10.
Swiftness (10): Increases all Movement Speed by 15%.
Untouchable (10): Increases Evade Window by 30%.
Vigor (10): Increases Max Health by 30.
Siphoner (10): Grants 3% base damage as Lifesteal.
Barkskin (9): Reduces all incoming damage by 9%.
Fitness (7): Increases Evade Distance by 21%.
Bloodstream (7): Increases Grey Health Regeneration by 2.1.
Endurance (2): Increases Max Stamina by 6.
