How To Unlock Challenger Archetype
Everything You Can Unlock With Challenger Archetype
When it comes to Souls-like games such as Remnant 2, choosing the correct class can be very important. For this game, classes are known as Archetypes, and the game makes you pick one of them during the tutorial. There are some Archetypes that you can't pick at the start since you can only unlock them after getting a certain item.

Challenger is one of the Archetypes you can choose at the start, but you can still get it later. It can be a great Archetype if you're playing solo or if you want to be the tank for your team. This can also work perfectly as the Secondary Archetype.

During the tutorial, you'll be asked to meet a person called Wallace at the harbor, and he'll let you choose one Archetype. This is the first place where you can choose Challenger. If you didn't get the Archetype there, you have to find an NPC called Reginald "Reggie" Malone. He can be found sitting beside Mudtooth.
At first, he'll have quite a bit of dialogue, but you'll be able to access his shop after that. In the shop, you'll find an item called Old Metal Tool that can be bought with 1500 Scrap. Buy this and take it back to Wallace. You'll be able to get the Archetype by consuming it in his crafting shop.

Each Archetype in the game has one Prime Perk that only takes effect if you have it as the Prime Archetype (left slot on the character screen). Moreover, you can also unlock up to three active Skills, four Perks, and one Trait as you level the Archetype up. Here's what all the Challenger abilities do:
Ability Type | Name | Level Unlocked | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Prime Perk | Die Hard | Whenever you take enough damage to get defeated, your character resurrects with full health and becomes invulnerable for three seconds. This ability has a cooldown of 10 minutes and can be reset at a Worldstone. | |
Skills | War Stomp | Creates an AoE attack in a cone shape for up to 7.5 meters in front of you. The AoE attack also deals damage around you at point-blank range and staggers every enemy hit. | |
Juggernaut | 5 | Instantly gain three stacks of Bulwark, increase Movement and Melee Speed by 15 percent, and Melee damage by 50 percent. Moreover, the chances of getting Staggered are reduced. This lasts for 25 seconds. | |
Rampage | 10 | Instantly increases your Fire Rate, Reload Speed, and Movement Speed by 15, 20, and 10 percent respectively for ten seconds. Moreover, you gain one stack of Rage every time you deal damage or defeat an enemy. This increases your ranged damage by 2.5 percent. If you get 10 stacks, your current firearm instantly reloads and all the stats above are doubled. | |
Perks | Close Quarters | 1 | All your damage to enemies within a 10-meter radius is increased, and the bonus slowly goes down when enemies are farther away (up to 20 meters). The chances of a Critical Hit are also increased. |
Intimidating Presence | 2 | Enemies within a 10-meter radius deal 10 percent less damage for 15 seconds after the Skill is used. This damage is reduced further based on the number of enemies present. | |
Powerlifter | 3 | Reduce the Stamina Cost and Regen Delay by 50 percent for every weight bracket (can be seen on the Character information screen). | |
Face of Danger | 4 | If you use a Relic within 10 meters of an enemy, you get 2 stacks of Bulwark and 10 percent increased overall damage for 10 seconds. | |
Trait | Strong Back | 1 level for each Archetype level gained | Reduces the Encumbrance of your character. |
You can only use one Skill from each Prime and Secondary Archetype during combat.
Moreover, the Trait only takes effect when the Challenger Archetype is on one of these slots.
