Who says you can’t go ice skating in the South? Not Atlantans. No matter whether you skate like a member of Team USA or you are a teeny bit unstable standing on top of two steel blades, you can add to your holiday cheer by grabbing the kids or your besties and gliding around one of these Atlanta ice skating rinks. Atlantic Station

Where to Go Ice Skating in Atlanta - Discover Atlanta (1)

Skate the Station returns to Atlantic Station. The rink opens Nov. 17 and remains open through Jan. 15, 2024. Skate beneath the stars at the largest outdoor ice rink in the Southeast. Skate the Station is open Monday through Friday from 4 to 10 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. weather permitting. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. Walk-ups are not permitted. Please check the website for rules. General admission is $17 plus a reservation fee.

The Rink at Park Tavern Powered By Pepsi Zero, Park Tavern’s skating experience, opens Thanksgiving weekend and remains open through Jan. 15, 2024. You skate beneath a heated garden tent with views of adjacent Piedmont Park. The rink features holiday decor with plenty of Instagram-able photo ops. You can enjoy rink-side seasonal co*cktails and cozy firepits. Skate Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. until midnight:$15 per ticket. Adults-only skate, age 16 and older, after 8:30 p.m. (No exceptions). Skate Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to midnight:$20 per ticket. Ponce City Market

Where to Go Ice Skating in Atlanta - Discover Atlanta (3)

The Roof at Ponce City Market invites you to Skate the Sky. Ten stories above Ponce de Leon Avenue, the Rooftop Terrace features a 3,500-square-foot ice skating rink.You will be able to enter the ice rink as a walk-in from Skyline Park or Nine Mile Station. Skate the Sky opens Nov. 24 and will remain open through Jan. 7, 2024. Please check the website for rules. Tickets range from $22 to $30 per person.

The Rockefeller Center-inspired ice skating rink, Avalon on Ice, opens Nov. 19 and runs through Jan. 15, 2024. Hours are Monday through Friday from 3 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sundays noon to 7 p.m. Holiday hours (Nov. 20-24; Dec. 19 – Jan. 1, 2024, and Jan. 15, 2024) are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. You should book ice skating reservations in advance to ensure a skating time slot. Walk-ups are welcome, but Avalon cannot guarantee you will be able to skate at that time.General admission is $18 per person including skates; children age 9 and younger, $14 including skates. Skate Sandy Springs

Come glide, shuffle or do the hustle on this outdoor rink on the City Green in Sandy Springs. In its inaugural year, Skate City Springs offers outdoor skating Nov. 24-Jan. 21, 2024, along with hot chocolate and snacks for sale. The adults fee is $15 per hour and the fee for children ages 2 to 10 is $13 per hour, which includes skate rental. Stay and walk around City Green, surrounded by local restaurants and decorated with colorful light displays, an illuminated menorah and Sparkle Village featuring six-foot-tall wooden homes decorated by schools, neighborhoods and local businesses.
